Payout will be 50% of proceeds to a maximum of $11,000.

Winners do not need to be present to win. Cash winners will be required to submit a W9 IRS form.

Union Marine has donated a Mercury 9.9 EXLHPT EFI Pro Kicker to raffle off – $20 per ticket or 6 for $100. Tickets available at Friday Harbor at the weigh-in station and awards banquet. Must be present to win.

Rules

  • All anglers on the boat must hold a ticket.
  • Must fish in marine Area 6-7 only.
  • Must fish from a recreational fishing vessel. NO COMMERCIAL CRABBING/FISHING VESSELS. WA licensed recreational charter boats are ok.
  • All fish must be taken directly to Friday Harbor without stopping at another port.
  • You must weigh your fish the day it was caught.
  • The biggest halibut by weight wins. In case of a tie, the first fish weighed wins.
  • All anglers must hold a valid WDFW recreational fishing license and abide by all WDFW recreational fishing regulations.

These rules may be changed by derby officials at any time prior to the beginning of the first day of the derby. Any changes to these rules or clarifications concerning these rules will be posted prior to the start of the derby.

Price is $100 USD per angler – NON REFUNDABLE.

Weigh-in

Weigh-in 4-6 pm at Friday Harbor Marina (Breakwater A, MAP HERE). You must be in line by 6:00pm both days (NO EXCEPTIONS). The biggest halibut by weight wins. In case of a tie, the first fish weighed wins.

Awards Ceremony Saturday night with food & raffle prizes

Please plan to join us at The San Juan Island Grange (152 1st St N, Friday Harbor).

  • Doors open @ 6:00pm. We’ll BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs so come early!
  • Ceremony is at 7:00, should end by 8:00. We aim to keep things moving.
  • Trophies and prize payouts for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, mystery weight. Need not be present to win.
  • Awesome raffle prizes from our sponsors. IMPORTANT: Bring your derby ticket to receive a raffle ticket.
  • The Mercury 9.9 kicker raffle prize winner will be drawn — must be present to win. Tickets available at the weigh-in station and at the door.
